Maj General Shaun Burley CB MBE Director Awarded a DASCB Coin to Cpl Jordan Young RE

Maj General Shaun Burley CB MBE Director of the Army Sport Control Board had great pleasure in awarding a DASCB Coin to Cpl Jordan Young RE who was selected as the team manager of the GB entry at the 2022 International Six Day Enduro event in France in August 2022.
Cpl Young managed the deployment of the entire GB squad, comprising 43 GB riders (including 3 Army riders), 18 support crew (4 were Army, Pte-SSgt) as well as all the bikes, spares, tools etc. He coordinated the travel plans and vehicle requirements, booking ferries, completing the Carnets for import/export of goods to and from France etc.
During the event, he organised the support crews to deliver three service areas a day. This included providing all the fuel/food/water for riders and crews in a foreign country as well as ensuring that all the support crews were in place at the right times.
He also had to ensure that any issues with the bikes were rectified. For example, one rider arrived at a service area where a broken part was identified that would need to be replaced at the next service stop. Cpl Young had just 50 minutes to find the replacement part and get it to the next service area before the rider arrived, to ensure that Team GB remained in contention.
Cpl Young’s tireless efforts before and during the event helped to ensure that Team GB won the 2022 International Six Day Enduro event for the first time since 1953.
Many congratulations to Cpl Jordon Young on his award of a DASCB Coin for his commitment to GB Motorcycle Enduro and Army Enduro.
