Today Major General Shaun Burley CB MBE had the pleasure in awarding a DASCB Coin to SSgt Chris Taylor RAPTC for his service and support to Army Diving
SSgt Taylor is an accomplished gymnast who, in recent years has been the point of continuity for Army Diving, taking on the post of Asst Team Manager and Team Manager.
Chris has been instrumental in the recent revival of Army Diving and was the driving force behind the planning and delivery of a number of grassroots innovations to promote the sport of Diving within the Army.
As a performer, Chris has represented the Army at Inter Service Championships for 10yrs and more recently lead the RAPTC to win the inaugural Army Inter Corps Diving Championships.
SSgt Taylor’s dedication to this chosen discipline has prevented the sport from being disbanded and his drive and energy have kept the sport alive, which itself is an outstanding achievement.
SSgt Taylor’s pursuit of sporting excellence goes hand in hand with his passion to promote the sport of diving across the Army. His selfless commitment to the good and benefit of Army sport is obvious and for this, he deserves recognition and should be congratulated and commended for his individual efforts in enhancing the prestige of the Army through sport.
